HR Business Partner

Role Purpose
As an HR Business Partner (Generalist) at Leroy Merlin, you will play a key role in partnering with the business to deliver impactful people solutions that support operational excellence and business performance. You will provide end-to-end HR support, from workforce planning, talent management and employee engagement to performance management, employee relations and change management. You will work closely with leaders and management teams to understand business priorities, translate them into practical HR solutions, and create a high-performing, engaged and positive workplace culture
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the store/business unit structure, workflows, operational requirements and sales cycles to effectively support business objectives
Partner with leaders to align HR initiatives with operational priorities, workforce requirements and productivity targets
Participate in business and operational meetings, providing proactive HR input and supporting informed decision-making
Build and maintain credible, professional relationships with management teams and key stakeholders
Translate business strategies into practical HR solutions, including workforce planning, organisational design, talent management, succession planning and performance initiatives
Analyse workforce data and HR metrics to identify trends, provide insights and recommend actions that improve business performance and employee effectiveness
Provide sound HR guidance while considering operational impact, business risks, compliance requirements and cost implications
Support leaders in driving employee performance, accountability, engagement and succession planning
Influence and constructively challenge leadership teams to ensure HR initiatives contribute to sustainable business growth and long-term objectives
Ensure HR policies, practices and processes are implemented consistently and in line with company standards and applicable labour legislation
Drive and support change management initiatives and business transformation projects
Promote a positive workplace culture that encourages collaboration, operational excellence and employee wellbeing
Qualification and Experience
Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Management or a related field
Minimum 5 years' experience in HR generalist or HR business partnering roles, preferably within a retail, commercial or operational environment
Proven experience partnering with leadership teams to deliver strategic HR solutions aligned with business objectives
Strong understanding of workforce planning, organisational design, performance management and employee relations
Experience interpreting HR metrics and operational data to support business decision-making.
Sound knowledge of labour legislation and HR best practices
Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills
Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment while managing multiple priorities
