Sales Consultant

Role Purpose

As a 28hour Garden & Landscaping Sales Consultant at Leroy Merlin, you will be at the heart of creating inspiring customer experiences, helping customers turn their outdoor dreams into reality. With your passion for gardening, landscaping and exceptional service, you will guide customers towards the right products, creative solutions and ideas to bring their projects to life. You will play an important role in driving sales, building meaningful customer relationships and creating a warm, welcoming environment where every customer feels supported, inspired and confident in their choices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the face of Leroy Merlin’s Garden & Landscaping department, engaging with customers and inspiring them to bring their outdoor spaces to life

  • Help customers select the right plants, gardening products, landscaping materials, tools and outdoor solutions for their needs

  • Offer practical advice and creative ideas to help customers plan and complete their garden and landscaping projects

  • Create a positive, welcoming and inspiring shopping experience for every garden enthusiast

  • Drive sales through strong product knowledge, project-based selling and meaningful customer interactions

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by understanding customer needs and providing tailored garden and landscaping solutions

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, becoming a trusted partner for customers’ outdoor living and garden projects

  • Stay up to date with garden trends, products and landscaping solutions to inspire customers and maximise sales opportunities

  • Contribute to customer satisfaction, repeat business and long-term loyalty

  • Support the overall performance and success of the Garden & Landscaping department

Qualification and Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification

  • Previous experience in retail, sales, customer service, gardening, landscaping, hardware or home improvement will be advantageous

  • Passion for gardening, landscaping and outdoor living

  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Sales-focused with good product knowledge and customer understanding

  • Basic proficiency in POS systems and computer applications

  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays when required

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and assist with stock handling
