Role Purpose

As a Sales Consultant in our Fix & Fasten department, you will help customers find the right products and solutions for their projects by understanding their needs and providing expert guidance. The role combines product knowledge, sales skills and a passion for customer service to create great shopping experiences, build strong customer relationships and contribute to the success of the department. Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their project needs and recommend the right products and solutions

• Recommend the right tools, hardware, fixings, fasteners and related products

• Provide practical product advice and explain product features, benefits and applications

• Drive sales through strong product knowledge, customer engagement and solution-based selling

• Build trusted relationships with customers and encourage repeat business

• Maintain excellent standards of customer service throughout the shopping journey

• Ensure shelves, displays and products are well presented, available and correctly merchandised

• Support stock availability by identifying low-stock and replenishment requirements

• Assist customers with product selection and finding alternatives where required

• Contribute to achieving department and store sales targets

• Stay up to date with new products, promotions and solutions within the Fix & Fasten range

• Operate POS systems and basic computer applications accurately

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support overall store performance

• Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

Qualification and Experience

• Grade 12 / Matric is essential

• Previous retail, sales or customer service experience would be advantageous

• Experience or knowledge of tools, hardware, fasteners, fixings or DIY products would be advantageous

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• A genuine interest in helping customers find the right product or solution

• Comfortable working towards sales targets and KPIs

• Confident engaging with customers and providing product advice

• Good numerical and basic computer skills

• Reliable, energetic and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment

• Physically able to stand and walk for extended periods and assist with moving stock when required
