Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Leader
Role Purpose
Leads IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, and technology resilience to ensure secure, stable, and high-performing systems that enable business continuity and digital transformation. Responsible for developing and continuously improving robust infrastructure and cybersecurity frameworks that mitigate risk, protect against evolving cyber threats, and ensure governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity strategies aligned to business objectives and digital transformation goals
Lead and optimize enterprise infrastructure environments including networks, servers, cloud platforms, virtualization, storage, and end-user technologies
Ensure the security, scalability, resilience, availability, and performance of all IT infrastructure and technology services
Drive cybersecurity operations including threat monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and security investigations
Implement and maintain cybersecurity frameworks, governance standards, policies, and compliance requirements including POPIA, ISO 27001, NIST, and CIS
Oversee identity and access management, endpoint security, network security, cloud security, and data protection controls
Lead IT risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery planning, and resilience testing to ensure operational continuity
Manage infrastructure modernization, cloud adoption, and enterprise technology transformation initiatives
Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing infrastructure and cybersecurity teams while managing vendors, service providers, and strategic technology partnerships
Manage departmental budgets, procurement, resource planning, and provide strategic reporting and recommendations to executive leadership
Qualification and Experience
Matric (Grade 12) required
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
Postgraduate qualification is advantageous
CISSP certification is preferred (information security leadership)
CISM certification is advantageous (security management focus)
Additional certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, and ITIL Foundation are beneficial
Cloud and infrastructure certifications (Microsoft, AWS, Azure, VMware, Cisco) are advantageous
8–10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity environments is required
3–5 years’ senior leadership or management experience is essential
Proven expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, risk management, compliance, incident response, disaster recovery, and vendor management
