Digital Commerce Specialist

Role Purpose
The Digital Commerce Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day performance, content, and conversion optimisation of the company’s eCommerce platform and mobile app, combining hands-on digital execution with data-driven insights. The role focuses on improving conversion, acquisition, and overall digital experience across web and app channels while collaborating closely with the Senior Manager, Omnicommerce, and cross-functional teams such as design, development, and the offer team.
Key Responsibilities
Build, publish, and maintain eCommerce web pages, landing pages, and app content
Manage banners, promotional assets, and content updates aligned to campaign calendars
Configure promotions including discounts, voucher codes, and bundled offers
Execute app push notifications and in-app messaging campaigns
Run email marketing workflows including segmentation, campaign builds, and asset optimisation
Manage AI chatbot flows and monitor performance for improved customer support
Oversee site search and on-site merchandising to improve product visibility and relevance
Maintain product catalogue accuracy, user-generated content, ratings, and reviews
Support CRO activities including A/B testing, personalisation, and experimentation using analytics tools like GA4 and Dynamic Yield
Build dashboards, track KPIs, and translate data into insights that drive conversion and commercial performance
Qualification and Experience
Matric (Grade 12) required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Information Systems, or related field is advantageous
2–4 years’ experience in eCommerce or digital marketing, preferably in retail or digital commerce
Strong understanding of CRO principles, A/B testing, and personalisation tools
Proficient in GA4 and able to build reports and self-serve analytics
Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and basic SEM concepts
Experience managing CMS-based digital content and eCommerce platforms
Familiar with email marketing tools and campaign execution
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills across multiple tasks
Comfortable using a wide range of digital tools (CMS, analytics, email, search, project systems)
Exposure to AI tools in marketing or digital workflows is an advantage
Certifications in GA4/Google Ads or CRO/UX training are beneficial
