Role Purpose
The Human Resources Business Partner supports the HR function by handling recruitment, employee relations, payroll data coordination, and overall HR operations. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with HR policies, coordinating with HQ stakeholders on payroll input, and assisting in the talent acquisition and integration processes.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and verify payroll data from HQ stakeholders, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete before submission.
Conduct initial reviews of payroll documentation to confirm compliance with company guidelines and secure sign-off from relevant stakeholders before final processing.
Coordinate closely with the HRBP (Payroll) to ensure smooth data flow, support payroll system inputs, and assist with monthly payroll cycles.
Maintain and update monthly staff allocation records to support payroll accuracy and integrity.
Support learning and development initiatives by identifying training needs and coordinating relevant training programmes with the L&D team.
Track mandatory training completion for new hires and existing employees to ensure compliance with LMSA development policies.
Provide feedback to the L&D team on training effectiveness and identify additional learning opportunities for employees.
Ensure all HR activities comply with labour legislation and the POPI Act, particularly regarding employee data handling and confidentiality.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records relating to recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and other HR documentation.
Support internal audits and HR reporting processes by providing accurate records and insights into HR operations and processes.
Serve as a point of contact for employee queries relating to HR policies, benefits, and payroll matters.
Manage employee relations matters in collaboration with management, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
Support conflict resolution and mediation processes to maintain positive workplace relationships.
Partner with line managers to support performance management, employee coaching, career development, retention, and engagement initiatives.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, including at least 2 years in an HRBP or similar role
Experience within the retail industry is highly desirable
Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and HR strategy implementation
Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures
Sound knowledge of labour laws and regulations
