Logistics Operations Leader
Role Purpose
To lead the design, structuring, and implementation of efficient logistics processes within stores, ensuring seamless inbound, internal, and outbound flows, including integration into logistics platforms such as WH, DFC, Xdock, and other store services. The role aims to optimize store performance by achieving high product availability (OSA 97%) and strong team performance (HTO < 10%), improve customer satisfaction, drive profitability and productivity through standardized logistics practices, and support the alignment of store logistics with the company's broader vision and transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate, and develop the logistics team to achieve high performance.
Manage talent retention and succession planning
Anticipate future resource needs and foster a motivated team culture aligned with roles and responsibilities
Create and implement medium-term logistics strategies aligned with business growth
Set and pursue strategic and tactical objectives for store logistics
Stay informed on market trends and incorporate best practices into logistics strategies
Promote continuous improvement via agile and lean practices
Define and optimize logistics operations, KPIs, processes, and procedures
Support decision-making on logistics investments
Maintain documentation on logistics projects, processes, and procedures for ongoing improvement and standardization
Monitor logistics KPIs regularly with the Performance Operations and Logistics Committee
Oversee national logistics KPI coordination, ensuring continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with CSR standards
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain within retail
NQF Level 5 qualification in Supply Chain Management
Experience with Lean and Agile methodologies is advantageous
Strong knowledge of Supply Chain systems and digital tools
3-5 years of team leadership experience
Project management skills are a plus
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency
