Role Purpose
Contribute to customer satisfaction by developing both commercial and managerial actions within the strategic plans of the company and the store environment, thereby optimizing department performance. As a "visionary manager," facilitate initiatives from collaborators. As a member of the management committee, engage in the development and implementation of store policies.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and refine product offerings based on market trends, store environment, and customer needs
Collaborate with the team to select product ranges aligned with company policies
Set pricing strategies and manage promotions to drive sales and profitability
Maintain merchandising standards: full, clean, and clearly priced sales floor
Create engaging displays and organise sales areas to attract customers
Balance product presentation between self-service and assisted sales
Plan and execute commercial activities to increase traffic and meet revenue goals
Translate business challenges into actionable strategies with the team
Deliver excellent customer service and foster a culture of hospitality
Engage with customers to understand needs and exceed expectations
Implement initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
Recruit, onboard, and build a strong, high-performing team
Train and develop staff to enhance skills and autonomy
Organise fair and efficient work schedules
Communicate goals and celebrate achievements to motivate the team
Drive revenue growth and improve profit margins through effective execution
Optimise inventory management and minimise markdowns
Allocate resources efficiently to meet operational demands
Contribute to store strategy through management participation
Communicate and implement company decisions within the team
Support broader regional and organisational commercial initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
Matric (NQF 4) required; Bachelor’s in Business/Marketing preferred
5+ years’ retail management experience (ideally in departmental leadership)
Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and merchandising
Proven ability to meet sales targets and drive profitability
Experience with promotional planning and campaign execution
Familiarity with inventory systems, retail analytics tools, and Microsoft Office
Knowledge of relevant product categories (e.g., bathroom, kitchenware)
